Celebrating the success of the 14th CCP Tsinghua University Congress

The Tsinghua campus is filled with sunshine and greenery during summer. Tsinghua is currently undergoing a process of comprehensive reforms which includes the “Double First-rate” strategy as well as “The Thirteenth Five-Year Plan.” Committed to playing a major role in the construction of a new century, such development of the new model comes at a critical period. The 14th Tsinghua University CCP Congress will be held from July 6th to July 7th with great success to discuss such issues.

Since the 13th Tsinghua CCP Congress in 2012, Tsinghua’s CCP Committee has thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of the 18th CPC National Congress and the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the CCP. President Xi Jinping spoke about the new strategy needed for governance with special focuses on strengthening ideological and political work, promoting science and technology and education, deepening a strategy for cultivating talents and ensuring future development is innovation-oriented so that the important progress of achieving a world-class university could be greatly accelerated.

In accordance with President Xi’s hopes for Tsinghua which was stated in his Tsinghua’s 105th Anniversary letter, Tsinghua is setting the correct direction and she adheres to her goals in cultivating the right talents who will serve the nation. Reforms and innovations will be earnestly implemented. Teachers and students are united to produce solid results and push for vigorous developments.

Let us celebrate the success of the 14th Congress and hope that the new Committee will unite and lead such reforms. The innovative spirit displayed by the teachers and students as well as scientific construction and ideological and political work continues to build a world-class university with outstanding achievements to greet future success of the 19th CPC National Congress.
